ABOUT THE SUMMIT

Our summit focuses on improving recruitment, retention, and referral strategies for healthcare professionals while addressing the social determinants of health that impact our communities. By tackling the challenges patients face before seeking care, we aim to foster a supportive environment that promotes proactive health management.

Join us as we explore innovative approaches and collaborate on solutions to ensure equitable access to quality healthcare throughout Eastern North Carolina. Together, we strive to build a healthier future by understanding the 'why,' 'how,' and 'where' of healthcare delivery in our region.

Event Testimonials

"I left the Summit feeling optimistic about the future of rural healthcare. It was gratifying to see so many local and statewide stakeholders committed to advancing healthcare access and quality for our communities."

- Dillon, UNC Health Wayne

"The Rural Healthcare Summit was so useful and informative to everyone who attended. I have been to hundreds of events, and this was one of the most organized and beneficial events that I have participated in. As a vendor, it was great to see so many attendees tell us that the information and flyers we put into hands, was everything they were looking for in getting more information on Medicaid. I greatly appreciate the welcoming smiles and hard work your team put in to make all of this happen."

- Sandra, Maximus

"The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce agrees that it is essential that we highlight Rural Healthcare in an effort to improve the quality of services, help recruit the best health professionals, help connect practices, and celebrate the hard work they put in everyday. Rural health matters to us, and this event is a result of that."
